Cefalù, an enchanting seaside resort with ancient roots, dates back to ancient times and was already inhabited in primitive times. Its apotheosis occurred in the twelfth century, during the period of Norman rule.

The Cathedral, architectural jewel, was commissioned by King Roger who, according to legend, promised to build it if he escaped a storm at sea. This building is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating cathedrals globally, representing a perfect example of southern Romanesque style.

Inside the Duomo, the wooden ceiling catches the eye: a remarkable example of Islamic art in Sicily. In addition, the mosaics that decorate the apse and the walls are authentic masterpieces.

Among the works of art stands out the Pantocrator Christ of Byzantine influence: one of the most sublime representations of Christ in Christian art.

The Mandralisca Museum is a must, it houses finds from the excavations in Cefalù and the Aeolian Islands, revealing the history of the region.
